This is pretty cool even though it strays into the 1966 era. This one
kicks off with a little Howlin' Wolf. It's hard to believe the Captain
and Eric were pretty much mining the same vein at the beginning. nv
This
kicks off with a barn burner of a torch song style ballad. One can
feel a darkened smoke filled studio, the walls sweating, and musicians
vying for a spot among the empties in which to play, sitting on ragged
Princeton Reverbs just trying to nail this take. nv
According
to the Real Frank Zappa book, the good Captain lived for a while with
an uncle of his during his teenage years. The uncle was an inveterate
beer drinker who relieved himself with the bathroom door open whenever
the Captain brought girls home to visit. The uncle, referring to his
member, would be heard saying (in a reference to size) "Look at that
thing, it's just like a beef heart!" and the rest is history. nv
Woe
is uh me bop, my human gets me blues. This sounds as if his wounded
inner puppy is processing the notion that indeed, the rosy cheeked one
in the red suit is really just a bouncer at a local fern bar.
